Can I use my DJI Controller with the DRL Sim?
The answer is a Yes, and a No unfortunately.
DJI FPV Controller = Yes, w/ limited usage
Other DJI Controllers = No 😢
DJI is very proprietary with their products and for the longest time would not allow the use of any of their controllers with 3rd party software, such as the DRL Simulator.
However when DJI released their DJI FPV radios, they allowed those to be used with other software.
We have been told by many community members that in order to use the DJI FPV radio with the DRL Sim, they first needed to connect their controller with either the DJI Application, or the Drone itself.
Once that was done, then they were able to use the controller with the Sim, however only the flight sticks and not the buttons or switches.
You will want to confirm your controller is working with your computer FIRST before attempting to try it in the DRL Sim. To do this, turn on and plug in your controller, and head to this Testing Website.https://gamepad-tester.com/
There you should see the controller listed, and see the values adjust when moving the sticks around.
If you do not have any activity on the site, please ensure that the controller is working with the DJI app and that the cable isn't faulty.
If you are a Steam user, you may need to adjust some Steam settings, you can see that info here.
And of course, if you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us on the DRL Discord, or even send us a Help Ticket!
Thanks so much, and Happy Flying!
